Beautiful Pictures of Trees Bring Life to Our Walls

Normally I would not be an advocate of cutting up a book, but last weekend I did just that. During our last trip to Whistler we were browsing through the village bookstore. Up on a display rack near the back sat a lone book, ‘For the Life and Love of Trees‘ by Lewis Blackwell. I love trees. I love sitting under them, looking at them through the windows of my house and having photos or pictures of them decorating my walls.

At first, I only wanted to buy the book. Then my creative daughter appeared and said, ‘Hey, those pictures would look amazing if you framed them. Why don’t you buy the book and create a gallery wall going up our staircase?’ So we did just that.

Now every time we walk into our home we’re able to enjoy the stunning photos.

What a great idea! I have an awesome “coffee table” book that one of my brothers gave me years ago. It is a book of all the “GAP” celebrity photos….and now, I have an idea! Thanks xo

    • Awesome. We had such a good time with this project. I get to enjoy the photos every day rather than only when I flip through the book. I hope you post pictures or a link so I can check out your work!! Great to hear from you, Katrina 🙂

  3. Shame to cut up a beautiful book, but such a cool idea and beautiful pictures. I thought of doing that with a few old Calenders :))
Wonderful blog , best wishes – Namaste – William

    • Hi William! It was a hard decision for me to take the pictures out of the book, but in the end I’m glad we did. I’m able to enjoy the pictures every day. If you do use your old calendars to frame, I’d love to see the results!

  4. Hi Lee Anne…I really like this idea! I love Bobbie Burger’s art, so I’m going to hunt down one of her books!!

    • Hi Jennifer! The project was fun and the results well worth any angst I felt over cutting pages out of a book 🙂 Please share pictures once you frame Bobbie’s art, would love to see them.
